The principle of our company, AUGUST FÖRSTER, founded in Löbau/Saxony in 1859, is based on maintaining the 150-year craftsmanship, the use of top-quality materials and the further development of individual requirements. Many thousands of hand movements, including tricks that have been passed down, result in the absolute top class master instruments, in a manufacturing process over a period of months. Quality and individuality are our hallmarks. A high degree of skilled craftsmanship, a wealth of ideas and the courage to try something new have made the name, August Förster, into a concept for mastery in piano manufacturing. We receive praise and acknowledgement from pianists, composers and conductors from all over the world.
Puccini, inter alia, already composed his world-famous operas, “Tosca” and “Madam Butterfly” on an August Förster instrument.
AUGUST FÖRSTER – a piece of music history, which merges into a harmonised whole, comprised of sound, shape and individual power of interpretation, under the hands of the player.
If you should ever make your way to our family-owned company, you will feel the 150-year-old tradition. The spirits of five generations live in every corner here, in every workbench, in every tool and even in the eyes of the descendants, whose ancestors laid the foundation for our present craftsmanship.
